Special Olympics Santa Maria enriches the lives of more than 500 athletes with intellectual disabilities and their communities through sports, education, and athlete health. It is one of nine regional programs of Special Olympics Southern California and offers year-round sports training and competitions for athletes.

Special Olympics Santa Maria provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
