Next Stop: Seattle in 2018

We are excited to announce the selection of Los Angeles Police Department Captain Al Labrada as the Special Olympics Southern California Final Leg runner for the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle.

Among his favorite memories, Captain Labrada points to his first Summer Games six years ago.

“Seeing the smiles from ear to ear of the athletes was a memorable moment that one never forgets,” he said. “I was hooked in wanting to be part of Special Olympics and the opportunities it affords many athletes and families.”

Here’s to new memories next summer. The event will be held July 1-6.

Dine with Law Enforcement

Join us for three events in October that will give you the opportunity to support law enforcement in your community.

The Red Robin Tip-A-Cop returns on October 19 from 5-9 p.m., allowing officers to serve patrons in a different way — with a meal.

Orange PD Earns Orange County Region's Inaugural Honor

Congratulations to the Orange Police Department for winning Special Olympics Orange County’s inaugural award for “Best Team Involvement & Community Engagement!” Each year, more than 250 law enforcement partners run the Final Leg in show of support for Special Olympics. This year, Orange PD organized multiple partners, including the Orange Fire Department, Swat Team, FBI, and Special Olympics athletes. They also incorporated CHOC Hospital into the mix to create a tremendously large display of support for Special Olympics. Thank you Orange PD for helping to raise greater awareness for Special Olympics!

Pier del Sol

Your favorite event on the Santa Monica Pier is back October 8. This year’s Pier del Sol fundraiser theme is “Oktoberfest,” so break out the lederhosen and join us for a day of great food and fun games.

The VIP brunch features more than 35 of Los Angeles’ top chefs and restaurants. A beach-top VIP beer and wine garden will enhance your culinary palette.
