KTLA Becomes Official Media Partner for Special Olympics Southern California

Promoting the Achievements of Special Olympics Athletes

KTLA and Special Olympics Southern California media partnership promotes the achievements of Special Olympics athletes. This clip is part of the 2010 One-Hour Special that aired on KTLA and was created by ProAngle Media.

Long Beach, Calif., May 5, 2010 -- Special Olympics Southern California announced today that KTLA is its new Official Media Partner. As the designated media partner, KTLA will provide year-round promotional support of Special Olympics Southern California’s sports and fundraising events as well as air a one-hour special about the cause and how it changes lives for people with intellectual disabilities.

“KTLA has a long history of not only award-winning news coverage but also community involvement,” said Bill Shumard. “We are thrilled to welcome them to the Special Olympics Southern California team and look forward to a long-lasting, collaborative partnership.”

In addition to news coverage, KTLA will also sponsor the annual charity golf tournament at Lakeside Golf Club and provide on-air talent for Special Olympics events. It will also be a co-sponsor of the annual Special Olympics Summer Games and Fall Games and provide employee volunteers for these events.
