NIT GOLF TOURNAMENT
By: Doug Manning - SOSC Sports Coordinator
I was fortunate enough to serve as Head of Delegation for the SOSC athletes selected to participate in the Special Olympics National Invitational Golf head in Beaumont, CA, September 18 - 21, 2004. This experience left me with many great memories, stories, and new friends from across the United States.
I would personally like to thank the caddies and unified partners for donating their time and expertise and for making my job that much easier (Roger Benson, Ken Daniel, Chris Dubia, Dennis Foster, Bucky Kahl, David Kaplinger, & Richard Lee). The nine (9) SOSC golfers that participated played extremely well on such a difficult course and always represented SOSC with class. Results from this grueling tourney are as follows:
Tom Salzwedel and Roger Benson - 1st Place (VENTURA) - Level 2 (division 06)
* Rounds 64, 53, 65 = 182 total
