Thank you to the more than 400 people who attended the "A World of Difference" Dinner and Auction at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach (map) on March 31.

At the event, we honored Roberta Abner, of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department and our Law Enforcement Torch Run Director, for her outstanding volunteerism.

Guests had the opportunity to bid on more than 300 fabulous auction items, including unique experience items, travel packages, culinary and wine, sporting event tickets, signed memorabilia, theater tickets, and much more.

Flash Mob

Special Olympics staff and athletes along with the Hi-Tops Dance Team put on a show for the attendees at A World of Difference.

The Closer actor, Tony Denison, who plays Detective Andy Flynn, hosted the event, and Randy Gordon was the auctioneer. Guests also enjoyed live entertainment from the Hi-Tops Dance Team and a flash mob from Special Olympics athletes and staff (video to be posted soon).

Benefiting Special Olympics Southern California Athletes

All proceeds will be used to provide sports training and competition for thousands of Special Olympics Southern California athletes. Special Olympics provides individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to realize their potential, develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy and friendship.
