About the 2009 Summer Games

Date:  June 13-14, 2009

Location:  California State University, Long Beach

 

- Competitions include Aquatics, Athletics, Basketball, Bocce, Golf, Gymnastics and Tennis

- Athletes and volunteers travel from all over Southern California to participate in this annual      championship, which is our largest sporting event of the year

- 1,100 athletes and 300 coaches

- 2,000 volunteers

- 1,000 local dignitaries, sponsors and spectators

 

EVENTS

- Opening Ceremony, June 13, 10 a.m., Track Stadium

- Breakfast With Champions, June 13, 11:30 a.m., Student Union Ballroom

- Competitions, June 13, noon to 5 p.m.; June 14, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Closing Ceremony, June 14, 4 p.m., Expo Park

- Award Ceremonies at all sport venues

- Expo Park features games, live entertainment, community exhibits, fun and a variety of sports clinics

- Healthy Athlete Village offers free health screenings for athletes

- Family Pavilion gives families an opportunity to meet others and spend time between competitions
