1,500 athletes and more than 2,000 volunteers will participate in the 2008 Summer Games for Special Olympics Southern California. Athletes will compete for the opportunity to win gold, silver and bronze medals in Aquatics, Athletics (Track & Field), Basketball, Bocce, Golf, Gymnastics and Tennis.
The public is encouraged to come cheer on the athletes and enjoy a weekend with friends and family. The event is free, including parking on the CSU, Long Beach campus.

SCHEDULE
Friday, June 13
- 7 pm., Opening Ceremonies, in the Pyramid at CSU, Long Beach.
Saturday, June 14
- 9 a.m., Breakfast with Champions, in the Pointe Room in the Pyramid at CSU, Long Beach.
- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Athlete competition.
- Healthy Athlete Village
- 9 a.m to 4 p.m., Sports Expo Park, featuring music, entertainment and games, is open to the public.
Sunday, June 15
- 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Athlete competition.
- 2 p.m., Closing Ceremonies at Sports Expo Park
